If you have a goal of becoming a licensed practical nurse, the practical nursing program at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro is issuing a "final call" for applications for the January 2007 class.

Fifteen students will enroll in the yearlong program, and the course is filling quickly. The first day of class is scheduled for Jan. 8.

The practical nursing program is offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College. Students attend classes at the North Campus and have clinical experiences at Laurel Health System facilities, including Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital and the Green Home in Wellsboro.

The noncredit program was developed for learners of all ages who want to improve their employment outlook. Excellent career opportunities exist in area hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, personal-care facilities and human-service organizations.

The North Campus program is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Students who successfully complete the program will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as an LPN.
