'Cat TalesBaseballIn winning the first game against NCAA Division II Alfred State, Devon Liquori (Hawley) went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in and Chris McGinley (Coatesville) went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Mike McCloskey (Springfield) got the pitching win. Liquori went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in the nightcap. Dan Preston (Little Meadows) took the mound loss.

Cross CountryIn its opener, Penn College finished fourth among five men's teams at the Marywood Invitational. Freshman Greg Kammerle (Willow Grove) led the Wildcats with a 15th-place finish in 30:36 over the 5-mile course. Penn College didn't have enough women to compete as a team, but Tracey Brubaker (freshman/Middletown) finished 34th among the individual runners in 24:33 over 3.1 miles.
