A free briefing on Radio Frequency Identification technology was held Thursday in the PDC Mountain Laurel Room. Major retailers such as Wal-Mart, distributors and the Defense Department are beginning to mandate the use of RFID, which tags and tracks items via radio waves. Two Penn College faculty members Jeffrey D. Mather, involved in a $517,000 RFID research project for the Army Tank and Automotive Armaments Command 10 years ago, and Randall L. Moser joined a Hershey Co. manageras presentersto companies that need information on this growing technology.
