Penn College's Student Government Association held its first "Legacy Dinner" on Saturday night, a gathering of ExecutiveBoard membersfrom almost every academic year since 1996-97.
Sabrena A. O'Keefe, SGA president, said the idea came from a national conference attended by the current board.
"Student Government Associations tend to keep reinventing themselves, so the idea was to find out what was done in the past, so we can continue to grow instead of repeat," she explained, adding that the past members from every recent year but 1997-98 shared the accomplishments of their respective terms.
Among those joining the students at the event were Davie Jane Gilmour, college president; Jill S. Landesberg-Boyle, vice president for student affairs; Carolyn Strickland, director of student life; Kimberly R. Henry, assistant director for student development; J. Elliott Strickland, special assistant to the vice president for student affairs (and former student activities director); and Barbara A. Danko, director of alumni relations.
The event was held in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant on the college's main campus.
