Whether on stage or in the audience, you can be a part of the first student-organized College Town Open Mic Night, to be held April 7 at the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport.
The event will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. as part of Williamsport's First Friday festivities.
Members of the College Town Student Subcommittee planned and organized the event to bring together students from Pennsylvania College of Technology, Lycoming College and Newport Business Institute on a project that is fun for students and the Williamsport community alike.
There will be performances by musicians, comedians, poets and more. If you have a talent, or if you know someone who does, encourage them to take part.
The event is free and open to the public, and there is no entry fee for performers. To participate, at least one person in each performing act must be a student. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. This is a great chance to get out and show other students, as well as community members, your talents. More events are being planned.
The Community Arts Center is located at 220 W. Fourth St. There is plenty of free parking, as well as places to eat and relax downtown after the show.
Applications are available at the Penn College or Lycoming College Student Activities Offices . For more information, send e-mail .
