A regional computer fair for an estimated 150 middle- and high-school students, sponsored by Intermediate Unit 17, is being held this week at Penn College. Students compete in categories including Web-page design, desktop publishing, graphic design and development of a computer-fair logo. The Web competition (depicted at left) featured a number of impressive entries, from the serious (9/11, deadly fires and suicide) to more lighthearted fare (cheerleading, Disney World and "Life as a Flat-Coated Retriever"). First-place winners go on to state competition. Visiting students also will take part in a Quiz Bowl, workshops and campus tours before the fair ends Thursday.
