Based on results from the regular season, two Pennsylvania College of Technology bowling teams are favorites going into Wednesday's Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference tournament at Pine Summit Lanes in Pine Summit.
The men's team of Andrew Hurst (West York), who carries a 218 average; Brandon Hendricks (Sunbury), with a 206 average; and Tim McMahon (Williamsport), with a 204 average; is favored, along with the combination division squad of Ben Zech (West York/194 average), Steve Eckman (Williamsport/189 average) and Andrew Parsons (Islip, N.Y./184).
Also competing will be the men's team of Allen Williams (Williamsport/177), Stephen Frueh (Plum/175) and Joe Ianaro (Clearfield/163) and the women's squad of Lisa Ulrich (Wyalusing/169), Marly Artley (Milton/156) and Erika Banzhaf (Williamsport/140).
During the five-tournament regular season, Penn College's No. 1 men's team finished first in the EPCC, the co-ed team finished second and the No. 2 men's team finished third.
"There should be no doubt that the men's team of Brandon, Andrew and Tim should take first place," said Lisa Worth, Wildcats coach. "The second men's team are in another division and they pretty much should win that division, too."
"When it comes to the women, Northampton County Community College has the better women's team. Our girls will have to bowl really well,"she said.
