Did you know that 1 out of 3 people do not wash their hands after using a public rest room?
According to a survey conducted by the American Society for Microbiology and shared by Penn College's Human Resources Office observations reveal that substantially fewer people actually wash up than claimed in a telephone survey to do so.
Employees can help decrease the spread of germs and disease within the workplace by following these simple hand-washing techniques:
- Thoroughly wash the hands and exposed portions of the arms
- Use warm water and lather up with soap
- Vigorously rub the fingers, hands and arms for at least 20 seconds
- Scrub the areas around and under the fingernails and between the fingers
- Rinse with clean water and dry with paper towels
