While extending his hitting streak to 17 games, Phil Woodring went 5-for-7, including a double, triple and five runs batted in during the second game. Mike Daciw (Sun Valley) went 4-for-4 in the second game with a home run and triple.

"Work, work and more work," coach Mike Paulhamus said of what will be needed between now and then for both his men and women runners. "The other teams are pulling a little closer each meet, so there's no letup at this point. I told the kids (after Saturday's meet) that we have to continue on our plan, we're going to have to keep digging."
Men's SoccerIn crushing Penn State Delaware, Shane Fuller (Northeastern) and Abdullah Al-Bahrani (Saudi Arabia) each scored two goals. Brendan Kemmerer (Faith Christian) had a pair of assists in helping to hand Penn State York its first loss of the season.
Co-Ed Tennis Rob Hayward (Griswold), Craig Collier (Pocono Mountain), Adam Wilson (Kane) and Krystal Sheredos (Bangor) posted singles wins while Wildcat doubles winners were Hayward-Collier, Spyke Krepshaw (Southern Columbia)-Derek Paulhamus (South Williamsport) and Angela Charcas (Palisades Park, N.J.)-Sheredos in a victory over Penn State Delaware.

Among the team leaders were Natali Plavi (Elderton) with 10 kills, Maria McNett (Canton) with four aces and 11 digs and Amber Geckle (Indian Valley) with 24 assists. Golf For the third straight season, the Pennsylvania College of Technology golf team has completed an unbeaten regular schedule and claimed a conference championship.
Led by medalist Shaun McQuay (Watsontown), who shot a 76 during Wednesday's match at Penn State Schuylkill, the Wildcats defeated two other opponents to close out a 16-0 regular season and capture the Penn State University Athletic Conference championship in the league's first year of existence.
Penn College also extended its three-season win streak to 96-0.
"It's unbelievable. This has been one of the greatest runs that I'm aware of," said Chet Schuman, Penn College coach. "I'm proud of the kids. The college should be proud of them. They represent the institution very professionally away from school.
"They're reaping their rewards because they are a dedicated group of young men. From the very beginning of practice, through the early rain and hot weather, they came to play," he added. "They're business. They're all business."
Gilbert Balliet (Watsontown) was just one shot behind McQuay on Wednesday, while Tony Stopper (Jersey Shore) and Len Nicholas (Abington) each shot 81, Jonathan Dolinich (Sayre) shot an 85, and Matt Haile (Sunbury) recorded an 86.
"It's a tremendous job by the team," praised Mike Stanzione, college athletic director.
"Anytime you can go three years and end up (in) first place is a remarkable feat," he continued. "You think about the winning streaks of UCLA for so long in basketball and, in our own small way, that is a pretty amazing streak. It's very impressive that those young men could maintain that level of play for that long of time."
The team's final regularly scheduled tournament at Penn State DuBois next week has been canceled and it now awaits the season-ending PSUAC Open Tournament Oct. 10-11 on the Penn State Blue Course.
