Park Place, the former Park Home/Herdic Hotel, at Campbell and West Fourth streets, will celebrate its 140th anniversary this weekend.

Beginning at noon Saturday, there will be a Garden Market and Garden Party with bocce and lawn croquet, food vendors, and games for children. The Lycoming County Historical Museum and the New Peter Herdic Transportation Museum will be open. A Victorian Tea will held from 4-6 p.m. on the porch of Park Place (reservations accepted at (570) 323-8080; tickets are $12.50 each).
On Sunday afternoon, from 1-4 p.m., public tours of Park Place and the Taber and Herdic museums will be open free of charge. The Durrwachter Women's and Rowley House museums will be open, as well (907 and 707 W. Fourth Sts). All donations and proceeds will benefit thesethree "new" museums.
