The Gallery at Penn College on the main campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology will host "Urban," a collection of artwork by Kirk Pedersen,Aug. 30throughSept. 23.
An opening reception will take placeAug. 30from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with an artist's talk scheduled at 4 p.m. in Penn's Inn on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center. Both the opening and the talk are free and open to the public.
After the opening, viewing hours for the show will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m., or by appointment. The Gallery will host additional viewing hours Sept. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., in conjunction with Williamsport's First Friday event. The Gallery at Penn College is in Room 202 of the Campus Center.
Pedersen is a professor of art at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. He often serves as a guest lecturer at colleges and universities across the nation.
He earned a master of fine arts degree from Claremont Graduate University in California, a master of arts degree in painting from San Francisco State University, and a bachelor's degree from Midland Lutheran College, Fremont, Neb.
His work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States and has been featured in such newspapers as the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune.
