Scholarship Established for Construction Management Students
Wednesday, May 4, 2005
A new scholarship fund will benefit students enrolled in Pennsylvania College of Technology's bachelor-degree major in construction management.
The college's Construction Management (BCM) Advisory Committee finalized an agreement recently with the Penn College Foundation to establish the Construction Management (BCM) Annual Scholarship.
The fund will generate two $1,000 awards annually, beginning this fall.
Wayne R. Sheppard, a member of the college's construction management faculty who worked with the advisory committee to establish the scholarship, said it will be a great benefit to those students.
"The BCM Advisory Committee has really hit the ground running," Sheppard said. "These two annual awards represent their commitment to the program. They have also been working on several additional projects, including the development of a mentoring program, assisting with field experiences and program review and accreditation processes."
Applicants for the Construction Management (BCM) Annual Scholarship must be enrolled full time in that major at the sophomore or higher level. Applicants must be eligible for other forms of financial aid and should provide evidence, attached to their application, attesting to their student-organization activity, commitment to the construction industry, work ethic and demonstration of leadership while a student at the college. Priority consideration will be given to continuing students in subsequent years.
