Executive Director Plans Departure From Community Arts Center
Wednesday, May 4, 2005
The Board of Directors of the Community Arts Center announced today that Gram Slaton, who has served as Executive Director of the facility since Sept. 29, 1993, has submitted his letter of resignation from that position, in order to pursue other opportunities.
"It's been a great ride," said Slaton, who has seen the Community Arts Center transform from a brand-new facility with a full-time staff of four to the flagship performing arts center that it has become today. "Few things are more bittersweet in life than knowing when it's time to move on, and make way for new blood and a new vision. I hope that the Williamsport community that has offered me such a terrific home over the past dozen years will always treasure this crown jewel of a theatre, and welcome the next Executive Director with the same warmth and friendship that they welcomed me."
The Board of Directors will immediately begin a national search for a new Executive Director. Mr. Slaton's final day with the Arts Center is presently scheduled for Tuesday, September 13.
Dr. William J. Martin, Chair of the CAC Board, acknowledged the resignation as follows: "The Board recognizes the pivotal role that Gram Slaton played in the Arts Center operation as its founding Executive Director and wishes him well in all future endeavors ."
