Donald R. Nibert's Wildlife Management class undertook its annual controlled burn on state game lands near Penn College's Earth Science Center on Wednesday, improving habitat for wildlife by killing invasive woody plants in designated grassland areas. It also provides practical experience for eventual control of wildfires and assists students in obtaining PA 135 firefighting license. The annual exercise is conducted with the assistance of the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. ( Photos and information provided by Donald R.
