Welding Faculty Members Certified as I-CAR Test Administrators
Friday, February 11, 2005
The Penn College Welding Department has become an automotive welding qualification test site for I-CAR, an international, not-for-profit training organization. Four members of the College's welding faculty − James W. Fox, Robert M. Vaughn, David R. Cotner and Michael J. Nau − successfully completed training Nov. 3-4 to become certified test administrators. The tests for I-CAR are plug weld on lap joint, fillet weld on lap joint and butt weld with backing (all welds that are to be performed in the vertical and overhead positions). The tests can be given to Penn College Collision Repair students that wish to become I-CAR-certified in welding, as well as to personnel working in the collision-repair industry.
