Online MHTI Course to Be Offered by Factory Built Housing Center
Monday, January 10, 2005
The Factory Built Housing Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer an online version of the highly successful Modular Site and Installation Management Course from March 7 to April 29.
The online course consists of an introductory module and 11 instructional modules addressing the four critical elements to successful on-site completion of a modular home. The course is supported primarily by grants from the Ben Franklin Technology Partnership and the Modular Building Systems Association.
Informative PowerPoint style units, custom animations, video-streaming demonstrations and interactive testing will enable successful students to earn a certificate from the Modular Housing Training Institute (a partnership of Penn College, the state Department of Community and Economic Development and the Modular Building Systems Association) equivalent to the one issued for the traditional classroom course.
Specifically developed for the modular industry, both the online and traditional courses are invaluable training tools for novices and experts alike. Builders, suppliers, financial institutions, real-estate professionals, building inspectors, industry personnel and consumers can benefit from the course, which is worth 1.6 Continuing Education Units. Registration and additional information can be found on the MHTI Web site .
The FBHC will continue to offer its traditional classroom-style MHTI course at the College. Upcoming dates for the course are: Feb. 1-2, Feb. 23-24, March 8-9, March 30-31, April 19-20 and May 17-18. The cost is the same for both the online and classroom MHTI classes: $295. Call (570) 327-4768 for more information.
