Penn College Students Earn Scholarships From Plastics Pioneers

The Plastics Pioneers Association has awarded $1,500 scholarships to two students enrolled in Pennsylvania College of Technology's Plastics and Polymer Engineering Technology bachelor-degree major.
The association awarded 15 scholarships to college students nationwide who are working toward careers in plastics. Founded in 1942, the Plastics Pioneers Association is a society of industry leaders made up of 250 members who have been employed in the plastics industry for at least 30 years and who have made a significant contribution to the industry.
The money for the scholarships $22,500 total comes from the earnings of a special fund based on contributions from members.
The Penn College students receiving scholarships for the 2004-05 academic year are Sean M. Stabler, Montoursville; and Ryan R. Romberger, Pillow.
The scholarship program is administered by the Plastics Institute of America, based at the University of Massachusetts/Lowell.
