'Cat Tales Men's Basketball The Wildcats used great defense forcing 29 turnovers in beating Penn State-DuBois in their season opener. After battling to a 41-41 tie at the half, Penn College pulled away in the second half behind the scoring of freshmen O'Dell Jones (Levittown), who had 24 points, and Ken Vialet (Manhattan, N.Y.), who added 21.
Women's Basketball In their opener, the Lady Wildcats got double-digit scoring from Katlyn Stupar (State College) and Natalie Plavi (Elderton), who finished with 18 and 14 points, respectively, but it wasn't enough against Central Penn.
At week's end, however, the Penn College women evened their record with a win over Harrisburg Area Community College as Stupar scored 29 points and hauled in 12 rebounds. Jennifer Racho (Hazleton) added 14 points for the Wildcats, as they overcame a two-point halftime deficit to pull out the victory.
