'Cat Tales BaseballDave Miller (Pen Argyl) went 2-for-4 in a first-game win over Penn State-Abington while Jason Fullmer (Wyalusing) and Anton Ferrer (Hanover) were both 2-for-3 at the plate in the nightcap loss.

GolfPenn College freshman Shaun McQuay (Warrior Run) was the medalist in his team's first win, shooting a 72.

Men's SoccerTim Weber (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) and Lathan Gross (Northeastern) provided the offense with one goal each while Ryan Swartz (Muhlenberg) was perfect in goal against Lehigh Carbon. In its win over Philadelphia, Matt Dennis (Northeastern) scored two goals and Mike Angell (Central York) one as Penn College rallied from a 2-1 second-half deficit for the win.

Against Penn State-Abington, Dennis tallied the lone goal and Swartz was "phenomenal" in goal, according to Wildcats coach Andy Richardson, as he stopped four shots on goal and six corner kicks.

Women's SoccerPlaying in windy conditions a day after tropical storm Ivan blew through, each team scored with the wind at its back, but neither could muster any offense while going into it.

Women's VolleyballThe Lady Wildcats took all three games against Penn State-DuBois, winning 30-18, 30-19 and 30-22. Strong serving by Amber Geckle (Indian Valley) resulted in four aces while Janell Thompson (Northern Potter) had 14 kills and Natalie Plavi (Elderton) nine kills.

After a lengthy delay getting things going when Penn State-Beaver got caught in traffic behind an accident and then a leak in the Bardo Gym roof forced the match to be moved to Lycoming College, Penn College didn't take long to heat things up on the court, winning 30-19, 30-10 and 30-16.
