An overview of the "graphic novel," a still-emerging genre of narrative literature, will be the subject of the Penn College Library's fifth Faculty Forum, to be held from 3-4 p.m. Oct. 6. David S. Sims, associate professor of English, will define some of the major characteristics of the form, then analyze sample frames by such practitioners as R. Crumb, Art Spiegelman and Chris Ware. Light refreshments will be served at the event, which is free and open to faculty/staff, students and the public.
