Robert Slothus, associate professor and director of the Radiography Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be published in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" for 2003-04.
Teachers whose biographies appear in the book have been nominated by a former student. Students listed in "Who's Who Among American High School Students," "Who's Who Among American High School Students Sports Edition" and "The National Dean's List" are invited to nominate a former teacher who has contributed significantly to their success and growth.
Slothus said he feels honored, and it gives him a feeling of accomplishment to know that one of his students, although he does not know who it was, nominated him for the acknowledgement.
"After teaching for 25 years, it's nice to see that happen," he said.
Slothus said students in the Radiography Program traditionally score well on their national licensing exams, and, for many years, the graduates have achieved 100-percent job placement.
"If I've contributed to that," Slothus said, "that makes me feel good, because all of them are going out and finding good jobs with high salaries, because there is a shortage now of imaging professionals."
The 2003-04 edition of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" will be published in October.
