Computer Science Professor Presents Paper at International Conference
Tuesday, August 24, 2004
Dr. Asesh K. Das, professor of computer science in the School of Business and Computer Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology, attended the International Conference on Cybernetics and Information Technologies, Systems and Applications: (CITSA 2004) recently in Orlando, Fla.
In the conference, Dr. Das presented a paper titled, "Computing with Words as an Agile Modeling Discipline."
Agile modeling is an applied software engineering methodology guided by values, principles and collaborative team work with effective modeling and documentation. Computing with words is a discipline for calculation with fuzzy logic, where words are used instead of numbers.
In his paper, Dr. Das claims that, fuzzy logic of computing with words and agile modeling are inherently tied together.Using words for computing and decision-making can make a system continuously robust, continuously adoptive and, ultimately, acceptable.
