Noncredit Woodworking Course Begins Aug. 19 at Penn College

Anyone interested in learning the time-honored craft of woodworking may sign up for "Woodworking 101," a noncredit course offered through Workforce Development& Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The class will meet from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Aug. 19 to Sept. 30, at the Carl Building Technologies Center on Penn College's main campus in Williamsport.
Through the creation of a small chest of drawers, Woodworking 101participants will learn fundamentals of design and the nature of wood as they acquire skills in the use of layout, hand and power tools; learn how to use woodworking machinery such as jointers, table saws, planers, shapers, molders and miter saws; and gain knowledge of various joinery techniques.
Previous experience is welcomed, but not required. Cost for the course is $499, including all required materials.
