One-Day Reiki Class to Be Offered at Penn College's North Campus
Thursday, April 29, 2004
An introduction to Reiki, a relaxing and healing form of touch therapy, will be offered May 22 at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro.
The one-day noncredit class, to be presented from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will address relaxation and stress- and pain-reduction techniques. The class will be taught by Sue Yarnes, a certified Reiki instructor and owner of the Reiki Center, Bloomsburg. Yarnes has more than 19 years of experience in Reiki and energy work.
The goal of Reiki, which originated in Japan more than 100 years ago, is to improve health and increase vitality. Due to its simplicity and ease of use, Reiki is gaining popularity with the general public, as well as nurses and other medical personnel, counselors and holistic practitioners.
The cost for the class is $85. Breaks will be provided; participants are responsible for their own lunch arrangements. The North Campus is located on Route 6 between Wellsboro and Mansfield.
Pre-registration is required for the class, which is being offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College. Call (570) 724-7703 to register or receive more information.
