Pennsylvania College of Technology and NDEITA, a nonprofit fitness-professional association, are co-sponsoring two nationally recognized workshops at the College in April.
A Group Exercise Instructor Certification Workshop will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, in Bardo Gymnasium on the College's main campus in Williamsport.
Participants can become certified with the most thorough one-day certification in the industry. Beginning instructors with little or no experience will gain insight into the basics of teaching group exercise.
The workshop will feature a classroom review of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and nutrition, as well as practical work with cueing, choreography, music skills and safe-exercise evaluation. The session includes a written exam and a national certification that remains valid for two years.
The cost is $229 ($199 for those who pre-register 30 days before the workshop). Space is limited; pre-registration is recommended.
A Boot Camp workshop will be offered from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, also in Bardo Gymnasium.
This workshop presents an exercise format that is sure to challenge the most avid exercisers. Participants will learn a variety of endurance games, intervals, circuits and obstacle courses that can be incorporated into their workouts or classes, training the entire body for serious results.
The cost is $79. Space is limited; pre-registration is recommended.
To register for the workshops, call toll-free 1-800-AEROBIC (237-6242), or visit on the Web.
