Professor's Feb. 17 Library Presentation to Address Vision Loss
Thursday, January 29, 2004
The challenges posed by vision loss will be the topic of the second in a series of faculty forums to be presented at the Pennsylvania College of Technology Library.
On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Charles F. Kemnitz, associate professor of English and technical communication, will present "Through a Glass Darkly" from noon to 1 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.
Kemnitz, who has experienced profound vision loss over the past seven years, will discuss teaching, grading and communicating with students in composition courses "where mutual expectations inhabit a world of light and shadow."
He will also address the ways in which he has made accommodations for his students, as well as the accommodations he requires from them in order to create a successful learning environment.
The College Library is located in the Learning Resources Center on Penn College's main campus.
