Keystone Cruisers Automobile Club Establishes Scholarship Fund
Friday, September 5, 2003
The Keystone Cruisers Automobile Club of Lycoming County has established a scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology for students enrolled in automotive-related majors.
The Keystone Cruisers Automobile Club Scholarship Fund is available to students in the Automotive Technology, Collision Repair Technology, Automotive Service Technician and Collision Repair Technician majors at Penn College who are enrolled full-time, have demonstrated academic quality and financial need, and are graduates of a Lycoming County high school. The scholarship will be awarded annually in the fall in an amount to be determined each year.
The Keystone Cruisers Automobile Club holds an annual car show to raise funds for various organizations that benefit the community. In 2003, the club decided to start a scholarship fund at Penn College to support a student enrolled in the School of Transportation Technology.
"The purpose of the club is to help give something back to the community," said Camille Bowen, organization representative. "We enjoy showing our cars and getting together to socialize."
"Having a club like the Keystone Cruisers, whose true goal is to help others, makes this scholarship fund have so much more meaning," said Dennis L. Correll, executive director of the Penn College Foundation. "We have been fortunate to have so many local clubs and organizations work with us to establish annual and endowed scholarships for Penn College students. We are able to provide considerable assistance to clubs and organizations in choosing those students who need the financial assistance and are striving to do their best in college. I'm pleased that we can help organizations achieve their desire and mission to help others."
