A Pennsylvania College of Technology student has been selected from a nationwide pool of applicants to receive a $1,500 scholarship from the American Dental Hygienists' Association.
Hillary A. Evans, Tionesta, who is enrolled in the Dental Hygiene-Health Policy and Administration Concentration bachelor-degree major at Penn College, is the recipient of this year's Dr. Harold Hillenbrand Scholarship awarded by the ADHA.
To receive the scholarship, a student must demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding clinical performance, maintain a minimum dental hygiene cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, submit an essay and receive recommendations from faculty.
Evans also is the recipient of the merit-based Sarah M. Ellegood Dental Hygiene Scholarship awarded by Penn College.
Established in 1923, the American Dental Hygienists' Association promotes communication and mutual cooperation among dental hygienists. The ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 120,000 registered dental hygienists in the United States.
