Spring Visitation Day 2003 Set for March 23 at Penn College

Prospective students and their families, as well as first-time visitors to Pennsylvania College of Technology, can tour the campus, meet with faculty and administrators and learn about academic programs, financial aid, student housing and more at Spring Visitation Day on Sunday, March 23.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. General information sessions for students planning to enroll at Penn College in Fall 2003 will be offered at the Field House at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Sessions for those considering enrolling in 2004 or later will be offered at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Klump Academic Center Auditorium.
Campus tours, conducted by Student Ambassadors, will depart immediately after each of the information sessions.
Early Bird information sessions for those who arrive before the official start time will be offered at 9 a.m. in the Field House (for those interested in enrolling in Fall 2003) and 9:30 a.m. in the Academic Center Auditorium (for those interested in enrolling in 2004 or later). An Early Bird "Choosing a Major" session will be offered at 9 a.m. at Penn's Inn in the Bush Campus Center. An Early Bird session for on-campus housing information will be offered at 9:30 a.m. in the Presentation Room on the first floor of the new Student and Administrative Services Center.
Those who are undecided about their career choice may attend other "Choosing a Major" sessions at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Penn's Inn. Career counselors also will be available throughout the day in Room 204 of the Campus Center. The counselors also will answer questions from students planning to transfer from another institution.
The College's eight academic schools Business and Computer Technologies, Construction and Design Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, Industrial and Engineering Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology will be the starting point for information on the College's bachelor-degree, associate-degree and certificate majors, which represent more than 100 career fields.
The Schneebeli Earth Science Center (located 10 miles south of the main campus at 203 Allenwood Camp Lane, off Route 15), the Lumley Aviation Center (located at the Williamsport Regional Airport, Montoursville) and the Advanced Automotive Technology Center (located at 3341 Wahoo Drive, Williamsport) also will be open for tours, activities and information.
Free bus transportation to the Earth Science Center and the Aviation Center will depart from the main campus at the parking lot in front of the Carl Building Technologies Center on West Third Street on the hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (the 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. buses will visit the Earth Science Center only). Return buses from those campuses will leave on the half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (the 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. buses will depart from the Earth Science Center only). On the main campus, free shuttle-bus rides will be available to ease movement.
For students who intend to reside in on-campus housing, information sessions will be offered every half hour, 9:30 a.m. through 1 p.m., in the Presentation Room at the Student and Administrative Services Center. Tours of the on-campus residence halls will be begin at the main gate of each facility from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Area landlords will be available throughout the day at the Thompson Professional Development Center to discuss off-campus housing options.
The Financial Aid and Admissions offices on the first floor of the Student and Administrative Services Center will be open and staffed throughout the day to answer questions from visitors.
A disability services workshop for those with documented disabilities will be provided at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Room 201 of the Campus Center. Staff there will be available throughout the day to answer questions.
Prospective students may take sample placement tests and learn more about the placement-testing process from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Academic Center.
Alumni parents are encouraged to visit the College Library, located in the Learning Resources Center, or the Earth Science Center to register with the Office of Alumni Relations. The library also will serve as "Information Central" throughout the day a place for guests to relax, enjoy light refreshments and learn more about the history of the institution.
The Children's Learning Center, located in the Campus Center, will be open for visitors, and the director and teachers will be available to answer questions. From noon to 3 p.m. in Room 151 at the Campus Center, Early Childhood Education students will offer activities for children ages 2 to 8.
Food and beverages will be available throughout the day at the Susquehanna Room and Penn Central in the Hager Lifelong Education Center; the Bistro, CoffeeHouse and Wildcat Express in the Campus Center; the International Cafe in the Academic Center; and Nature's Cove in the Earth Science Center. Student organizations also will offer food and other items for sale at various locations around campus.
The College's fine-dining restaurant, Le Jeune Chef, will serve brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Reservations are required; call (570) 320-CHEF.
The co-hosts of the College's award-winning "You're the Chef" television series on public television, Tom Speicher and Chef Paul Mach, will offer cooking demonstrations at noon and 1:30 p.m. in the Lifelong Education Center.
The College Store will offer a 20-percent discount on clothing purchased on Spring Visitation Day. Students who submit an application for admission before leaving campus will have the required $100 tuition deposit waived.
