Fall Visitation to Acquaint Prospective Students With Penn College

Prospective students and their families will have an opportunity to learn more about Pennsylvania College of Technology, a special-mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University in Williamsport, at Fall Visitation Day, to be held Sunday, Oct. 27.
Information sessions, campus tours, career counseling and other activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. "Early Bird" information and career sessions will start at 9 a.m. for those who arrive on campus by that time. More than 2,700 people from Pennsylvania and seven other states attended last year's event.
Student Ambassadors will lead walking tours of the main campus, and the College's eight academic schools Business and Computer Technologies, Construction and Design Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, Industrial and Engineering Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology will be open for tours and demonstrations. Prospective students can meet with faculty members to learn more about Penn College's academic majors, which represent more than 100 career fields.
General information sessions with separate sessions for students entering in Fall 2003 and Fall 2004 or later will be offered throughout the day at the Bush Campus Center and the Klump Academic Center. The sessions will address admissions, financial aid and academics. Campus tours follow immediately after each session.
Information sessions for students interested in enrolling in Fall 2003 will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. in the Academic Center auditorium. Sessions for students considering enrolling in Fall 2004 or later begin at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Penn's Inn in the Campus Center.
An Early Bird information session will be held at 9 a.m. in the Academic Center auditorium. An Early Bird "Choosing a Career" session will be offered at 9 a.m. in Penn's Inn by Counseling and Career Services Office staff.
Another "Choosing a Career" session will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Penn's Inn, providing tips to guide students through the process and explaining such tools as "interest inventories" and Internet searches. In addition, an open forum for students to stop by and ask questions about career selection will be offered from 2:30 to 3 p.m., also in Penn's Inn.
Sessions also will be available for students who want to learn more about on-campus-housing options at the three College-owned-and-operated facilities: The Village at Penn College, Campus View Apartments and College West Apartments. The sessions will be held every half hour from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Thompson Professional Development Center.
In addition, students may take a sample placement test, which will help them prepare for the testing required for Penn College admission. The test sessions will be ongoing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second floor of the Academic Center.
The Advisement Center on the first floor of the Learning Resources Center will be open for the duration of Fall Visitation to help prospective students develop a class schedule and use the online Student Information System.
Disability services available at Penn College will be explained in two half-hour sessions (noon and 1:30 p.m.) in Room 143 of the Academic Center.
Free bus transportation will be provided to the Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood, which houses the School of Natural Resources Management. Buses will depart from the Park Street entrance of the Campus Center at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Buses will leave the Earth Science Center at 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
Free bus service also will be offered to the Lumley Aviation Center at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville. Buses will depart from the Campus Center at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Buses will leave from the Aviation Center at 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
Trolleys will be available for travel around the main campus, stopping at the Academic Center, the parking lot outside the Learning Resources Center, the Park Street entrance to the Campus Center, the front entrance of the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center and the side-gate entrance to College West Apartments (near the parking lot).
Le Jeune Chef, the College's fine-dining restaurant, will be open for brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Reservations are required; call (570) 320-CHEF.
Other Food Services facilities will be open as well, including the Susquehanna Room in the Hager Lifelong Education Center, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the Bistro in the Campus Center, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; the Wildcat Express in the Campus Center, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; the CoffeeHouse in the Campus Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the International Cafe in the Academic Center, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Nature's Cove in the Earth Science Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The College Store, located in the Campus Center, will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will offer a 20-percent discount on all regularly priced clothing.
