Courses in Ultrasound Physics, Abdominal Sonography and Obstetrics/Gynecology Sonography will be offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology beginning in January.
The courses may be taken for continuing professional education (through Penn College's Technology Transfer Center), applied to the College's Diagnostic Medical Sonography Competency Credential (which prepares practitioners to take certification exams), or taken as part of the Applied Health Studies bachelor-degree program offered by the College's School of Health Sciences.
The 48-hour Ultrasound Physics course will be offered Jan. 19-20, Feb. 9-10 and March 2-3 from 8:30 to 5 p.m. at a cost of $489.
The 32-hour Abdominal Sonography course will be offered March 23, April 6 and April 20 and May 4 from 8 to 5:30 p.m. at a cost of $389.
The 48-hour OB/Gyn Sonography course will be offered June 1-2, June 15-16 and June 29-30 from 8 to 5:30 p.m. at a cost of $489.
Penn College has purchased a top-of-the-line ultrasound machine (the GE Logic 700 Expert) for use in the program. State-of-the-art classroom and laboratory experiences are provided.
