Creative crafts, cooking, physical activities, indoor and outdoor games, and daylong field trips with new themes each week will be among the highlights at the "Summer Youth Adventure Camp 2001," being offered June 11 through Aug. 2 at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The camp, sponsored by the Student Activities Office at Penn College, is designed to enhance the well-being of children ages 8 to 14 through social interaction, physical programs and education.
The cost is $60 per week per child, or $17 per child per day. The camp runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with extended hours (beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m.) available for no extra charge. Enrollment is limited to 25 children per day.
Among the activities to be offered are roller-skating, outdoor swimming, age-appropriate movies, bowling, games, crafts, cooking projects and computer projects.
Field trips are planned for Indian Caverns; ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park, Hershey; Bald Eagle State Park; Knoebels Amusement Resort's waterslides and pool; Tipton Waterworks and Rapids; Lake Tobias; DelGrosso's Amusement Park; and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
Experienced staff will operate the camp, and an emphasis will be placed on good manners for the campers, who will be able to take pride in personal and group achievements.
