Veteran Pro Jeff Gallagher Featured at College's Spring Golf Classic

PGA Tour veteran Jeff Gallagher will be the featured professional at the15th Annual Spring Golf Classic hosted by the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation on Monday, May 14, at the Williamsport Country Club.


The annual fund-raising event for sponsors supports the Scholarship Aid Program for Penn College students, providing $134,500 in scholarships since 1990.



The Spring Golf Classic begins with a breakfast and photo session at 8:30 a.m., followed by a golf clinic with Gallagher at 9:45 a.m. After a luncheon, the tournament gets under way at 12:45 p.m. A reception and awards presentation will take place at 6 p.m. in the Thompson Professional Development Center on the College's main campus, followed by dinner at Le Jeune Chef restaurant at 7 p.m.


Gallagher, a 36-year-old Henderson, Nev., resident, has played on the PGA, Buy.Com and Nike pro tours. His best year on the PGA Tour was 1998, when he won $259,769 and posted two top 10 finishes and two top-15 finishes. He has two Buy.Com Tour victories to his credit. Gallagher comes from a golfing family. His older brother, Jim Jr., is a PGA Tour veteran, and his sister, Jackie Gallagher-Smith, is a successful LPGA Tour member. Their father, Jim Sr., was a club pro in Marion, Ind., for many years.
