Green Building Fair Focuses on Environmentally Friendly Products
Tuesday, February 27, 2001
Products and services with a "green" orientation will be on display at the Green Building Fair, scheduled for March 30-31 at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Nearly 50 exhibitors and professionals will offer displays during the event, which will be held at Penn College's Field House from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 30, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 31. The event is free and open to the public and is being sponsored by CertainTeed and the Sabre Radio Group.
Vendors will be available continuously, and the fair also will feature a full slate of presentations, including Robert Barkanic, deputy secretary for the state Department of Environmental Protection's Office of Pollution Prevention and Compliance Assistance, who will speak at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 30.
Radio stations WBZD (93.3 FM), WILQ (105.1 FM) and WZXR (99.3 and 103.7 FM) will offer live broadcasts from the event from 3 to 6 p.m. on March 30.
At the fair, industry professionals, homeowners and students all will be able to find helpful information about how to improve the quality of the building environment through awareness of environmentally friendly green products and services.
Green products may reduce energy usage and take advantage of nature for heating, cooling and lighting. They may also be designed with the life cycle of the product in mind: They may be made out of recycled products or they may be recycled when they wear out.
