Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. of Torrance, Calif., has donated a sport utility vehicle valued at $60,600 to Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The vehicle, a 2000 Lexus LX, will be used for instructional purposes in the Collision Repair programs in the School of Transportation Technology.
Penn College has been part of the Toyota Technical Education Network since 1991 and offers an associate-degree major in Automotive Technology/Toyota Emphasis. Since 1999, Toyota has been a sponsor of the Collision Repair Technology and Collision Repair Technician associate-degree and certificate programs at the College.
Presenting the vehicle for Toyota was Randall Preece, area manager for Toyota T-TEN. Accepting for the College was Colin W. Williamson, dean of the School of Transportation Technology.
"The Lexus is a tremendous example of the complexity and quality found in the newest-generation vehicles," Williamson said." The vehicle will be a great learning challenge to the Collision Repair students as they fully restore the car."
