Nearly 300 students have petitioned to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology in commencement exercises scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 21.
The students will receive their bachelor's and associate's degrees and certificates in ceremonies set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport.
Benjamin H. Eldred, who has received the highest honor awarded to a Penn College faculty member, will deliver the commencement remarks. Eldred, an associate professor of diesel equipment technology, received the 2000 Master Teacher Award during graduation ceremonies held in May. The Montoursville resident joined the College in 1973 as an instructor. He has played a key role in the College's association with Caterpillar, which serves as an industry sponsor of a Heavy Construction Equipment Technology associate-degree major.
The student speaker for the ceremonies will be Kristy Marie Treweek of Reedsville, Mifflin County, who is graduating with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
Penn College President Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour will preside over the ceremonies and confer the degrees.
