Toyota Donates New Vehicle

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., of Torrance, Calif., has donated a 2000 Corolla sedan to Pennsylvania College of Technology for instructional use.

The vehicle, which is valued at $16,323, will be used in the automotive programs in the School of Transportation Technology at Penn College.

Presenting the vehicle for Toyota was Randall Preece, area manager for the Toyota Technical Education Network. Accepting for the College was Colin W. Williamson, dean of the School of Transportation Technology.

"The Corolla has the latest engine technology available on the market today," Williamson said. "The vehicle has electronically controlled variable-valve timing, along with a coil-over ignition system."

The College has been part of T-TEN since 1991 and offers an associate-degree program in Automotive Technology/Toyota Emphasis.
