Several Information Technology certification programs unique to the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania will be added this summer and fall at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus, near Wellsboro.
Through the College's Technology Transfer Center, noncredit certificate programs will be offered for Computer Network System Technician with optional Cisco Router; Certified E-Commerce Technician; and E-Commerce Manager.
The Information Technology programs are intensive courses, designed to lead to certification. They provide hands-on training to build the skills and knowledge necessary in the information technology industry.
The Computer Network System Technician program will run June 19 to Sept. 13 (Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and Sept. 19 to April 24, 2001, (Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and alternating Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
The optional Cisco Router module will run Sept. 14-27 (Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and April 28, 2001, to June 2, 2001, (Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and alternating Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
The Certified E-Commerce Technician program will run Sept. 18 to March 12, 2001,

The E-Commerce Manager program will run Oct. 23-27 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
The Computer Network System Technician is a 400-hour (part-time) or 448-hour (full-time) program designed to prepare participants to work as computer network technicians (equivalent to 18-24 months' experience in the information technology industry). The final 64 hours of the program comprise the optional module in Cisco Router Technology.
E-Commerce Technician is a 216-hour program designed to provide skills that will enable participants to develop competence with the technology supporting electronic commerce.
The E-Commerce Manager course is a 40-hour seminar designed to introduce information technology decision-makers to the principles of electronic commerce. It will focus on different Internet business models, evaluations of technical solutions and the electronic marketplace.
Information sessions are available for each of the programs to be offered at the North Campus. The sessions also will address tuition, funding options and employment opportunities.
