Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Transportation Technology will be honored as tops in the state during the Association for Career and Technical Education convention in Orlando, Fla., in December.
Dean Colin W. Williamson recently received word that the school's entry in the 1999 Industry Planning Council Automotive Awards for Excellence is Pennsylvania's postsecondary representative in the competition's "manufacturer affiliated" division.
Among the criteria for the award which is sponsored by ACTE and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is a program's capacity to prepare graduates to perform successfully in the occupational field.
State winners will be recognized Dec. 12 in conjunction with the Trade and Industry Division awards program of the ACTE national convention.
