A Pennsylvania College of Technology student and a veteran of the local hospitality field have been honored by the American Culinary Federation of Pennsylvania's West Branch Chapter.
Christopher Douglas Timko, a baking and pastry arts student in Penn College's School of Hospitality, was named "Junior Member of the Year" for 1999. The award recognizes participation in local chapter activities and commitment to the culinary profession.
Timko, Williamsport, completed an internship at W. Millar and Co, in Washington, D.C., and will complete his associate degree at Penn College in December.
He is a son of Edward and Carolyn Timko, Annandale, Va. Named 1999 "Chef of the Year" was Charles Barrie Edmonds, treasurer for the chapter since its inception in 1991. A father of six, Edmonds holds a bachelor's degree in hotel administration from The Pennsylvania State University, and currently is executive chef/banquet manager with T.G.I. Fridays/Holiday Inn of Williamsport.
