Believing that students learn best from hands-on experiences, Chrysler Corp. and VanCampen Dodge-Chrysler Plymouth in Williamsport have made a commitment to education by donating a 1996 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JX to Pennsylvania College of Technology. The vehicle will be used to supplement instruction in the College's automotive technology majors.
In addition to benefiting the instructional experience at the College, donations by Chrysler and VanCampen allow for the recruiting and potential placement of specialty trained technicians who are familiar with Chrysler products.
"Chrysler and VanCampen Dodge-Chrysler Plymouth have donated the vehicle so that the student technicians get all the educational advantages Chrysler Corporation and Penn College have to offer," stated James C. VanCampen, owner of the Williamsport dealership. "In addition, the donation ensures that Chrysler owners will continue to receive the best automotive care possible when serviced by Chrysler trained technicians."
In conjunction with Chrysler Corp., VanCampen and Thomas P. Cohick, service manager at the local dealership, recently presented the Sebring to Colin W. Williamson, dean of Penn College's School of Transporation Technology.
