First responders, detectives and pastry chefs were at work recently during “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” at Penn College.

The Office of People & Culture invited employees to take part in the national celebration and organized hands-on engagement for children, 10 to 14 years old. The career-focused activities included: “First Responder Fundamentals,” with a tour of the paramedic program and the basics of CPR and tourniquet application; “Detective for a Day,” featuring techniques such as the role fingerprinting plays in crime solving; and “Kulinary Kids,” a behind-the-scenes peek at restaurant operations and cupcake decorating.

The kids started their career expedition in the Bardo Gym with “Icebreaking through Intramurals,” engaging in basketball, cornhole and soccer fun.

Other children were busy job-shadowing their parents or other relatives.

A productive day at work was enjoyed by current and future Wildcats!
