Wildcat student-athletes play by the book

    On Thursday, Coach Geoff B. Hensley and five members of the Penn College men's basketball team – Colby M. Bost III, David Brown, Cade E. Cavanaugh, Christian A. Chandler and Kris L Hayes – visited the Dunham Children's Learning Center and shared a story with each of its three preschool classrooms.

    Hayes (rear left) and Bost share their time – and their laps! – during preschool storytime. Hayes, of Chesapeake, Va., is an electronics & computer engineering technology student; Bost, from West Nottingham, N.H., is enrolled in construction management.
    Clearly entertaining his young audience is Cavanaugh, of Greensburg, majoring in architecture & sustainable design.
    Brown (center left), of Bridgeport, Conn., and Chandler, of Norfolk, Va., join children and staff for a reading of "Santa's Eleven Months Off." Brown is pursuing a degree in business administration: sport & event management concentration; Chandler is an engineering design technology student.

    "The children and players were engaged in getting familiar with one another and engrossed in the stories being read," said Linda A. Reichert, the center's director. "The players were a bit nervous but, once we told them that they are all Wildcats, both the tiny tots and college students enjoyed each moment."
