The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s soccer team enjoyed an international trip to England and Scotland from July 28-Aug. 6, competing in three matches and touring historical sites in both countries.

“This was an amazing experience for current members of our team, along with some of their parents and a few alumni,” Wildcat coach Tyler Mensch said. “Having the ability to travel to foreign countries that take so much pride in their 'football' can never be matched. We saw the passion and level of commitment the UK players pride themselves on, and that level of play will hopefully benefit us as we get ready for our preseason.”

The traveling party comprised 61 people, including current student-athletes, alumni and family members. The group first landed in Scotland, where they toured the Old Course at St. Andrews (and walked holes 1 and 18), watched a Scottish League Cup match between Dundee FC and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, toured castles in Edinburgh, and played a friendly match against Stirling University.

In England, the group had the opportunity to visit the Lake District of Windermere, Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium, Warwick and Windsor Castles, and Oxford University; and had a Blue Badge Tour of London. They watched Watford play QPR in an opening weekend match of the Championship Division, and competed against Govan & Uni of Manchester FC and England and Beaconsfield Town FC.

Penn College begins its preseason Monday and kicks off the season Sept. 1 at Keystone College.
