Laura A. Snyder, of Harrisburg, enrolled in the landscape/plant production technology major at the college’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center, received the Jacobsen Landscape Design and Construction Scholarship. The presentation coincided with the three-day National Collegiate Landscape Competition, in which eight Penn College students participated.
“Laura is so deserving of this scholarship,” said Carl J. Bower Jr., assistant professor of horticulture. “She comes to us from many years of experience in the industry, and combining that with her knowledge has made her an exceptional student who is destined for great things.”
The NALP Foundation is dedicated to advancing professional careers in the landscape and lawn care industry, and has awarded more than $1.8 million in scholarships to more than 1,500 horticulture and landscape students over the years – including a number of Penn College students.
