Ethan M. McKenzie chosen as September’s ‘Student of the Month’

Ethan M. McKenzie, a software development and information management major from Muncy, has been selected as the September “Student of the Month” at Pennsylvania College of Technology. 

A Student Government Association senator-at-large, representing Diversity & Community Engagement, McKenzie also has a seat on College Council and works as a student assistant in Madigan Library.



Ethan M. McKenzie“I cannot recommend a student more highly than Ethan for this award,” a faculty nominator said. “He has been in two of my classes, and he proved himself to be an excellent, motivated student who worked diligently on his assignments. He also helped other students.” 

McKenzie additionally serves as a Connections Link, facilitating the college’s orientation program for new and transferred students; is a Community Peer Educator; and is involved in campus voter registration efforts. 

“He has committed himself to helping other students on campus through the positions he has taken on,” his nominator added. "He has also spearheaded initiatives with the aim of improving student life. He certainly is a role model for any student in both his academic and community achievements. He believes our purpose here is to do good, and he certainly lives up to his ideals.” 

Off campus, McKenzie volunteers as a media manager and webmaster for local political campaigns, and is a webmaster for his church. 

Student of the Month recognition is bestowed by SGA numerous times each academic year based on nominees’ commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement.
