Book Recommendations Sought for Penn College’s Centennial Celebration

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

As Pennsylvania College of Technology counts down to its centennial celebration in 2014, it invites students, employees, alumni and retirees to nominate a favorite read for its Centennial Book Project.

The Centennial Book Project aims to provide for a dialogue focused on some attribute or value that represents the institution.

The book will be selected by a committee from titles recommended by students, employees, alumni and retirees. The chosen book will become the centerpiece for co-curricular activities – which may include art, dramatic readings, gallery displays or film – as well as lecture and book groups during 2014.

Fiction or nonfiction, recent publication or not, the only requirement is that the book be in print.

Email book recommendations by July 31 to Veronica M. Muzic, special assistant to the president for academic affairs. The book selection will be announced at the college’s Fall 2013 convocation.

2014 marks a milestone in Penn College’s rich history, from the inception of adult classes in the Williamsport Area School District in 1914, through its evolution into Williamsport Technical Institute, Williamsport Area Community College and present-day Pennsylvania College of Technology.
