Monday night at Marywood University, the first of three NCAA Division III teams it is scheduled to play this week, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's basketball team won, 75-73, in overtime.
Penn College opened a 26-5 lead at the start of the game and led by 11 at halftime. But the host Pacers battled back to tie the game at the end of regulation and send the contest into overtime. In the OT period, the Lady Wildcats used a 10-8 advantage, including key foul shots by Alyssa Kramer (Northeast Bradford) and Erin Mahoney (Conneaut Valley), to pull out the win.
"It was a verybig win for the program," said Ron Kodish, Penn College coach.

Penn College shot nearly 53 percent from the field (30 of 57) and limited Marywood to just over 30 percent shooting (25 of 82, including one of 16 from 3-point range).
The Lady Wildcats, now 5-1 overall, host Susquehanna University at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bardo Gymnasium and then travel to Elmira (N.Y.) College for a 2 p.m. game Saturday.
