Rain dampened much of last weekend's hot-air balloon festival at the Williamsport Regional Airport, but not the enthusiasm of aviation alumni from Penn College and its predecessors. A total of 29 alums and their guests visited the Lumley Aviation Center in Montoursville, where they were treated to a tour and a lesson on the college's aviation history. The youngest guest was Mason Breiner Myers, who attended with his grandfather, Eugene Breiner. Michael Martin, Class of '77, and Jon Flynn, class of '76, both employed by US Airways, traveled from Charlotte, N.C., for the reunion. The Class of 1945 had four alumni present: Eugene Breiner, Robert Fries, C. Volney Leibensperger and Vern Pidcoe. And there were two father/son alumni pairs: Leibensperger and his son, Keith; and Alan T. Sargeant and his son, Richard. ( Photos by James F. Finkler, annual giving officer)
