Diagnostic Medical Sonography Ultrasound Courses to Be Offered

Pennsylvania College of Technology, a special-mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University, will offer diagnostic medical sonography ultrasound courses for practicing sonographers and other qualified individuals beginning in January.

The courses, which are being provided by Penn College's School of Health Sciences and the Technology Transfer Center, can be taken for continuing professional education or applied toward the College's competency credential or a bachelor's degree in Applied Health Studies.

The courses are eligible for Continuing Education Units from the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. They will be offered from 8 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays from Jan. 24 to May 1.

The following courses have been scheduled: Ultrasound Physics (48 hours) Jan. 24 and 31 and Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28; Introduction to Sonography (16 hours) March 20 and 27; and Abdominal Sonography (32 hours) April 10, 17 and 24 and May 1.
